Andhra Pradesh Residential Schools (Gurukul Schools) Admission Schedule for the academic year 2011-12 has been announced. Admission to 5th Class (Class V / Fifth Class) in AP Gurukul Schools for General Candidates, BC and Minority candidates will be done through Lottery System following the guidelines of Right to Education Act. Lottery system is being implemented for selection of the candidates from 2010-11. Offices of the District Collectors shall carry out the Lottery process. The AP Gurukula Residential Education Society has banned the entrance system for admission to 5th class as per the instructions of the Right to Education Act. These schools follow English Medium with state syllabus.
Other Details:
1. Notification for admissions to 5th Class in AP Residential Schools will be issued on 11th March 2011.
2. Applications will be issued between 14 - 28 March 2011 at all the AP Residential Schools in the state.
3. Filled in forms have to be submitted at concerned district convener address on or before 29th March 2011. You need not attach any certificates along with application.
4. Lottery will be drawn on 15th April 2011 and counseling dates will be announced.
5. First round of counseling will be held on 23rd April and the first list of selected candidates will be announced bu concerned authorities.
6. Seats remain vacant after first counseling will be filled through second counseling with waiting list candidates on 25th June 2011.

For admission to vacant seats in 6th and 7th Classes, applications will be issued from 3rd May to 14th May 2011. Lottery will be drawn for 6th and 7th classes on 1st June 2011.

Andhra Pradesh Residential Education Society shall conduct entrance tests for admission into Intermediate and Degree courses in AP Residential Degree and Junior Colleges. All groups are available in Intermediate.

Age Limit: (a) Class VI – Boys born between 02 Jul 1999 & 01 Jul 2000(both days inclusive).
(b)Class IX – Boys born between 02 Jul 1996 & 01 Jul 1997 (both days inclusive) and should have passed class VIII  from a recognized School before admission.
Curriculum: 10 + 2 System of CBSE
Examination Centres: Guntur, Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Tirupathi, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram.
Scholarships: Merit Scholarships, Income based Scholarships & Defence Scholarships are available. The Social Welfare & Tribal Welfare Departments award Scholarships to the SC/ST boys whose parent’s income is less than Rs.18,000/- per annum under Bright Boys of Best Available Schools Scheme. Free Education (Tuition Fees, Clothing Fees and dietary charges only) on Merit-cum-Means basis for Andhra domicile students from economically weaker sections of society and whose parental income is below Rs,2,000/- per month.
Reservation: S.C. 15%, S.T. 7.5% & Defence 25%
Approximate Vacancies Class VI – 70, Class IX – 30 (including all Reservations of State/Other States/Union Territory). In case of non-availability of sufficient candidates in S.C/S.T Category vacancies, if any, will be filled in by candidates from General Category.
Prospectus, Application Form and last year’s question papers can be obtained from ‘the Principal, Sainik School, Korukonda, Vizianagaram District, A.P PIN – 535 214’ on payment of Rs.375/- (Rupees Three Hundred and Seventy Five only) or Rs.275/- (Rupees Two Hundred and Seventy Five only in case of S.C. & ST) through crossed DD payable at State Bank of India, Sainik School, Korukonda Branch, Code No.2791 in favour of The Principal, Sainik School, Korukonda along with a self addressed envelope of size 26 cm x 20 cms without postage. Payment through M.O and IPO will not be entertained . Requisition for Prospectus should clearly indicate Class for admission, the Category (General /Defence /SC /ST) and Medium for Entrance Exam. Sample Question Papers for Class VI & IX of Previous years will be available till stock exists on additional payment of Rs.25/- (Rupees Twenty Five only) per set. Navodaya vidyalaya Samiti decided to fill the vacant seats in IX class through an All India level Selection Test.he district-wise vacant seats in the Vidyalayas are separately notified in local News papers. Admit Card for appearing at the Selection Test will be issued to the candidates by 2^nd July 2009. If the candidate does not get the Admission Card latest by 3^rd July 2009, he/she must contact the office of the Principal of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya for obtaining the same. Selection Test for admission to IX class will be conducted on Sunday 12^th July, 2009(10.00 Am to 1.00 PM) in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya of concerned district.  
Eligibility: 1.Only those candidates who have studied in class VIII during the Academic Session 2008-09 in one of the Govt./Govt. recognized schools of the district where the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya is functioning and where admission is sought. 2.Candidate appearing for the selection test must pass Class VIII in the academic session 2008-09 from a Govt./Govt. recognized school in the district where he/she is seeking admission. 3.Candidates seeking admission must not have been born before 01.05.1993 and after 30.04.1997. This will apply to candidates of all categories including those belonging to SC/ST. 4. Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti reserves the right to refer any candidate to MEDICAL BOARD for confirmation of the age of the candidate in case a doubt regarding age certificate produced by the candidate before the admission is given.
